Intro to COP17

CBD COP17 aims to conduct the first global review of collective progress on the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KM-GBF) and accelerate actions to halt and reverse nature loss by 2030.

CBD COP17 will take place from 19-30 October 2026, in Yerevan, Armenia, under the slogan “Taking action for nature”.

The conference will see delegates from the 196 parties to the convention and members of civil society, businesses & more (including youth) come together to review progress.

The Global Review

What is the review and stats from preliminary report...

The revised global report on collective progress in the implementation of the KM-GBF (CBD/SBSTTA/28/2/ADD1/REV1) indicates that national reports primarily highlight consultation and awareness-raising roles for citizens, youth and women. This highlights the continued need to strengthen the meaningful and sustained integration of youth in biodiversity decision-making processes.
